Kapodistrias is a historical feature film set at the beginning of the 19th century that tells the true story of Greece's most important politician and first governor, Ioannis Kapodistrias, after the country's liberation from Ottoman rule. With courage, humanity and dignity, he uncompromisingly champions the freedom of every individual. To this end, he sacrifices the great happiness of his life – love – and does not shy away from confronting the forces of evil. He renounces wealth, fame and international recognition. When Greece gains its independence, Kapodistrias is asked to take on the office of first governor. Although he recognises the danger associated with this task, he accepts it. He puts serving his country above personal safety and remains true to his path until the end. His actions have a lasting impact on the young nation and leave a legacy that extends far beyond his death.
